It would ideally suit the horse industry where a large number of workers in the industry are either old, small stature, female or a combination of all three. The issues that face the intensive livestock industry are food in and waste (manure) out. Every movement needs to be in a weight unit that is below the maximum weight for safe handling and be able to be completed in a safe and timely manner.

As a registered nurse I have always been taught that the best position for the unconscious patient is the left lateral position - ie: laying on their left side. When a patient is put on an ambulance stretcher the left lateral position will see them facing the wall of the vehicle not the ambulance officer who is treating / monitoring them
